Cost of Rangehood Installation
from $450 +GST you supply or $700+gst we supply, assuming a basic installation Like the first picture, the second picture represents a significantly more expensive installation, where cupboard arrangements were altered, a Wall pelmet had to be cut out, the unit was ducted out through a solid brick wall that required the rental of a core drill, and the ceiling was angled meaning the hood had to be reshaped. costing roughly an extra $450 +GST
New rental regulations require Ventilation
according to the "TenancyServices : Healthy Homes standards Ventilations" a Rental property must have "an extractor fan(s) in rooms with a bath, shower or indoor cooktop" it then further goes on to specify the minimum sizes and extraction volumes applicable to property in various situations.
How to get a quieter rangehood
If you have a noisy rangehood, Dont be suprised, this is pretty much the norm, if you want to be able to hear each other while cooking you have several options, The most premium method, is to buy an rangehood where the fan is mounted on your roof, this will cost over $1500+ depending on your house. Another more economical option is to alter your existing rangehood set up. this is done by removing the existing fan inside your rangehood, and Installing a new fan in your ceiling (the old fan can not be used for this), and wiring it back to the speed controller on your existing rangehood.This new centrifigul fan is powerful and depending on the model you have, most likely will have more suction than your existing fan anyway but doing this makes it so quiet that your new issue will be forgetting to turn it off because you cant hear it, These alterations will cost you around $550+GST and is an ideal solution if you have a simple rangehood currently installed you want to give an extraction capacity boost and make it more silent.
